Meet Beth Shaha

For as long as Beth can remember, she has been drawn to stories — the quiet moments when someone opens up, the pause before a truth is spoken, and the connection that happens when we feel truly seen. Those moments shaped who she is and the work she does today.

Her approach is rooted in deep listening, compassion, and curiosity. Whether coaching one-on-one, leading a retreat, or speaking to a room full of people, her goal is the same: to help others reconnect with their inner wisdom and move forward with clarity, courage, and intention.

Beth’s Philosophy and Approach

#1: awareness

Growth begins with noticing. When we pause long enough to see what is really happening inside and around us, we create space for clarity and genuine choice.

#2: alignment

Once you see what matters most, the next step is living in harmony with it — making choices that reflect your values and support your well-being, in small and meaningful ways.

#3: action

True change requires courage and consistency. Beth helps you take meaningful steps forward — grounded in your own wisdom, supported by practical tools, and moving at a pace that's right for you.

Her role is not to tell you what to do — it's to help you uncover what you already know. Through deep listening, honest reflection, and thoughtfully designed tools and frameworks, Beth helps people live and lead with more alignment, purpose, and self-trust.

Beth's work begins with awareness. Real change happens when we slow down, listen, and tell the truth about where we are. Her coaching, retreats, and talks are built around three guiding principles:

So, what’s with the canary?

The name The Grounded Canary came from Beth’s realization that sensitivity is not a weakness. It is wisdom. For years, she tried to quiet the part of herself that felt everything so deeply, the part that noticed when something was off even when no one else did. Eventually, she realized that being sensitive was her greatest strength.

The name draws from the canaries once sent into coal mines to sense danger in the air — the first to notice what others couldn't yet see. Beth sees herself, and many of the people she works with, as modern-day canaries: people who feel deeply, sense what others may miss, and know when it's time to pause and pay attention. In a world that rewards doing over being, that sensitivity isn't a liability. It's a compass.

Then, I realized that I am a canary in a coal mine. I sense things and follow my own intuition towards truth and freedom. And now, I see it as my SUPER POWER.

The canary is a reminder to slow down, listen, and respond before we lose our sense of balance. Beth's work helps people do exactly that — to notice what their inner voice is saying, make choices that bring them back to purpose, and build a life that feels grounded and truly theirs.

Beth has spent years walking beside others as they navigate change — sitting on dirt floors in small villages, standing in rooms filled with laughter and learning, and listening to stories of courage and hope. Through every experience, one thread has held: what people need most is not more advice, but a safe place to be seen, heard, and reminded of who they truly are.

The Grounded Canary is her invitation to do the same.

The heart behind The Grounded Canary

Beth is, at her core, a lover of life and people. She laughs easily, hugs tightly, and believes that small, everyday moments hold the most meaning. She is the friend who remembers your story, the one who will bring you flowers, listen deeply, and remind you to breathe.

She describes herself as a glitter-filled bubble ready to pop wherever she lands, a grounded canary who listens closely and speaks with love and concern. Her joy lives in color, music, home-cooked meals, sunshine, and the feeling of bare feet in the grass.

Beth lives in central Pennsylvania with her husband and family. She is known by friends and clients alike for her warmth, energy, and ability to make people feel seen and cared for. Her life, much like her work, is guided by curiosity, gratitude, and a steady belief that love and presence are what truly change the world.

Training meets intuition

Beth is a certified Martha Beck life coach with years of experience facilitating retreats, workshops, and group sessions for individuals, businesses, and community organizations. She combines professional training with an intuitive understanding of people, blending structure and empathy in everything she leads.

Her background in education, leadership, and personal development allows her to meet each client where they are, helping them gain clarity, confidence, and direction in their next steps.
